Manchester United have just completed a deal for Van Persie. Van Persie being unhappy the way Arsenal club was being operated opted to get transferred to Manchester United. Barcelona also looks all set to sign Song from Arsenal. I don’t know what it is with Arsenal. Every season Arsenal sells its most important players to other clubs for big cash.

Real Madrid on the other hand being notorious for spending huge amounts of money on players in every transfer market, have not made a single signing this summer so far and that alone I think must be a record of some sort when Real Madrid’s history is taken into account.

This, in no way, is meant to suggest that not signing players is a bad thing but I think Real Madrid does need to strengthen some key positions which could eventually decide if Real Madrid win the Champions League or not. Remember last year, I think it was pretty much the left back’s fault(it was Coentrao was it? I think he really messed up in the final minutes of the first leg against Bayern Munich in the semi final of the Champions League which basically freed Lahm and his low cross resulted in the goal which eventually knocked Real Madrid out of the competition) that Real Madrid were unable to progress through to the final of the Champions League.
