it,” he stated.
Sahin had a ligament injury towards the end of the last season while playing for Borussia dortmund but says that he is now back to full fitness and cannot wait to get back with his new side to start working in the pre season.
“I’m fully recovered from injury and in Madrid I’ll get in good physical condition. I am ready to start working with my colleagues. Between them there are good friends; [Hamit] Altintopand[Mesut]Ozil,”he concluded.
Now, I do not mean to knock Sahin’s high hopes down, but he has a momentous task of knocking either Alonso or Khedira to have a chance of playing in the starting eleven. To further dampen his hopes, is the fact that players like Diarra, Gago, Grenaro, Kaka and Benzema were not able to cement their place in the starting line up in this Real Madrid squad.
I am sure that with time Sahin will come to realize that the purpose of Real Madrid signing him was not because Real Madrid wanted a first team player but because they wanted a player who would sit on the bench and be ready when the call comes. They also wanted a player who wouldn’t create much of a fuss in accepting this role.
Anyway, what do you guys think? Will Sahin be so good that Mourinho actually starts to favor him against Xabi Alonso and Khedira come the start of next season?
