It’s been quite a week. Real Madrid lost to Real Union in Copa Del Ray. Well, we didn’t actually loose, we lost due to the AWAY GOALS rule. And thus Real Madrid made some history which they didn’t want to make by loosing to a 3rd division lowly side.
Anyway, I think the team’s morale is on a all time low. The Press has been throwing weird stories about Real Madrid in the Media. Bernd Schuster replacements have been suggested, Juande Ramos and Frank Rijkaard names have been coined as possible replacements, but I think both names are out of question. They WILL not (or atleast SHOULD not) be allowed to coach Real Madrid, that would be horrible.
Anyway, this weeekend Real Madrid travel away from home to play Real Valladollid. We have a pretty good record against them. They have only won 13 times out of 78 I think, against Real Madrid, ten of those wins came at their home ground.
Real Madrid are in such a “BAD PATCH” right now, I think even this game is not going to be anywhere near a walk in the park. We must get the 3 points because Barcelona is just on a rampant form. They are decimating teams, humiliating them with scores like 6-0 coming with abnormal frequency.
Despite all the criticism from the media, Real Madrid are 2 points behind the leaders Barcelona, tied with points with Valencia. If Real Madrid don’t get the 3 points here, it’s going to curtains for Schuster or atleast that is what the papers say.
Well, the Real Madrid squad has been sending out mixed messeges themselves over the current situation.
Raul, Guti and Heinze have said that the team is ACUTALLY having problems performance wise on the pitch (oh really, I didn’t notice Raul, thanks for making that point clear,), but there are others such asPepeand Higuaín who are adamantly refusing to acknowledge there’s any sort of crisis.
I don’t know who to believe but one thing is for sure and that is that the dressing room isn’t having the best atmosphere ever. Things have been going bad for Real Madrid.
Back-to-back defeats to Juventus in the Champions League and unconvincing displays against Almería and Málaga in la Primera culminated with last Tuesday’s humiliating elimination from the Copa del Rey on the away-goals rule at the hands of Segunda B team Real Unión.
Anyway, criticism aside. There is one other fact and that is, Real Madrid have had quite alot of injuries recently which has unabled Shcuster to pick his best team or to play with a certain system.
Pepe, Cannavaro and Sergio Ramos are all struggling to maintain full fitness from one game to the next, Guti and Wesley Sneijder, both back to top conditiononlyrecently, haveyettorediscovertheir
