Real Zaragoza 2-2 Real Madrid

Ok now we are near to closing the La liga now, 37nth match and I thought this would turn out a tough game for Real Madrid, first because the championship has already been won and second because it’s Real Madrid, not Manchester United who fight like dogs till the very end against any team, at any time under any circumtances. This game had it all, chances, goals, poor defending(which is good by the way) which lead to some stylish attacking football. For those who do not watch Spanish Football for Barclays Premier league, I tell them, you’re missing the classic football, the way football was meant to be played.

The game started of in NBA style, which means that both sides attacked and attacked and attacked some more, chance after chance, miss after miss. Real Madrid defence seemed to be non existent but so did Zaragoza’s. Ricardo Olieviera scored for Real Zaragoza after Zaragoza’s cheap(but effective and a norm in modern day football) tactic of counter attacking paid off, Real Madrid players were in no mood to defend for their lives because the game did not matter ofcourse.

Van Nistelrooy scored an easy goal after Higuain chiped the ball over the defence to Robinho who chested it down adn took a shot which was blocked by the keeper but the rebound fell nicely for Van Nistelrooy, easy goal by his standards, well,by any standard. I liked Real Madrid tactics in this game, it was like “you score and then we’ll score”, Real Madrid didnotdefend in number, most of the time there were only four defenders defending with Diarra holding the midfield nicely infron of the back four.

Another goal came after the first half ended in 77nth minute by Robinho, which I thought would be the last goal of the game but was not. Robinho was put in with a nice ball over the defence which was trying to make a offside trap(never recommeneded against Real Madrid) and paid the price for it, Robinho did it on his own from a very tight angle, chipped the ball over the keeper’s head for Real Madrid’s second goal of the night.
